The film version of the novel Fight Club is a complete success. It includes all aspects of the book that are essential to understanding the theme. Furthermore, the film does an excellent job of showing the inner struggle that the protagonist goes through with the presentation of the film. Fight Club the film is a direct representation of Fight Club the book.
Although there are many themes in Fight Club, the one that is predominantly evident is that every person has the power to make history. In the novel, the antagonist, Tyler, begins two groups called “Fight Club” and “Project Mayhem”. Both spread across the nation via Tyler and gain immense support. The film does an excellent job of portraying this especially with the development of “Project Mayhem”. With every scene that has some relativity to “Project Mayhem” the number of people involved becomes larger and larger. Furthermore, the film spends a great deal of time showing Tyler screaming orders at his supporters and pounding the idea into them that everyone has the power to make history. This gives the viewers a real sense of what life would have been like for those who supported “Project Mayhem” and allowed the viewers to really believe that every person has the power to make history, just as Tyler’s followers believed. Tyler had a great influence on his supporters which shows an indication that he made history in a sense because he changed the lives of thousands of his supporters across the nation.
In the novel Fight Club, the protagonist goes through a great inner struggle that is made clear with the film by allowing viewers to truly understand the mind of the protagonist. In the film, the viewers hear the commentary of the protagonist which represents his thoughts. In addition, the viewers can hear the tone of voice that the protagonist uses throughout this commentary which provides a great indication to how the protagonist is feeling in each given instant. The creators of the film also chose great ways in portraying the character Tyler, the alter ego of the protagonist. With every scene that the protagonist and Tyler are in, it would appear as if everyone else in the scene could see Tyler as well which left the impression that Tyler was a real person. This allowed the viewers to believe, as the protagonist believed that Tyler was a real person. In turn, the viewers can become confused at some points with the revelation that Tyler is the protagonist’s alter ego. However, this confusion is fully resolved in the end of the film in the same way as the novel. With the presentation of the film, the viewers are left with a strong impression of how the protagonist is feeling throughout the film allowing the viewers to fully comprehend the inner struggle that the protagonist goes through.
The underlining things that must be understood about the novel Fight Club are the theme, and the inner struggle of the protagonist through the development of the novel. The film version of Fight Club was able to fully demonstrate theses traits of the book which made the film a magnificent success.

Your understanding of both the book and movie appears to be excellent. I really want to read and/or watch Fight Club now :). However, I feel like there's an element missing from this essay, another point or body paragraph that would have tied the whole thing together. Perhaps if you mentioned some of the differences between the movie and book (there must be some) and why they work?
